Participation and holding of exhibitions abroad
means the holding abroad (outside the territory)
of exhibitions of achievements of economic construction,
exhibition and trade fairs of goods and technology
trade, and economic and trade symposiums with a
view to promoting the sale of commodities from our
country. As well as participation in any and all
activities with a certain scale of commodities exhibition
and economic & trade negotiation for the purpose
of promotion of foreign economics and trade, such
as international fairs and international economic
& trade exhibitions etc...
The Ministry of Commerce is in charge of the macro
control and Convergence Case-management of the activities
of participation and holding of exhibitions abroad
(outside the territory). |
Plans for the participation
abroad in international fairs and international
economic & trade exhibitions next year:
the application report (contents include: sponsor
unit, undertaking unit, name of exhibition; time,
site, contents, scale of exhibition, number of
participants; feasibility scheme; budget; number
of days for staying outside; visiting routes) |

| Economic and trade exhibitions,
which are held in the names of the province, region
and municipality by the commissions (departments
and bureaus) of foreign trade & economic cooperation
of various provinces, autonomous regions, municipalities
directly under the Central Government and municipalities
separately listed on the state plan, shall be
firstly submitted to the Ministry of Commerce
(Development Division) for collection, and then
be all together transmitted to CCPIT for coordination. |

must be strictly abided by with no alteration

| Sponsor and Participating
Units |
Undertaking units of exhibitions shall be those
possessing the right authorized by the Ministry
of Commerce to carry out external exhibitions, and
those enterprises that have had experience and a
good credit standing for undertaking such activities.
Some of controlling companies of foreign trade (industry
and trade) belonging to the State may recommend
a subsidiary of theirs. Competent authority of foreign
trade & economic cooperation of various provinces
and municipalities may recommend one to two enterprise(s)
engaging in foreign trade or advertisement or exhibition
companies, all of which shall act as undertaking
units after submitting to the Ministry of Foreign
Trade & Economic Trade and going through the
formality of qualification verification. Sponsor
unit of a nature of an enterprise may undertake
exhibitions that are sponsored by itself.
Units participating in exhibitions must be foreign
trade enterprises, productive enterprises and enterprises
with foreign investment, all of which must possess
the management right of foreign trade & economic
cooperation. Personnel from units supplying goods
and assisting units may act as those invited by
unit exhibitors to participate in exhibitions. Participants
of exhibitions must be leaders in charge of business
and the business personnel who understand foreign
languages. The number of persons in each standard
booth for participating groups and teams shall not
be more than two. |
| Functions |
Functions of a sponsor unit shall be: In accordance
with the requirements of development strategy of
foreign trade & economic cooperation and exploitation
of markets, and in light of actual conditions of
business in the local area and this enterprise,
to formulate the plan of activities for holding
exhibitions abroad (outside the territory) and bear
responsible for the submission of the plan to the
Ministry of Commerce, to select enterprises and
commodities to be exhibited, to verify the undertaking
scheme of exhibitions and to supervise and inspect
the effects of activities that have been carried
out.
Subject to pertinent provisions prescribed by the
Ministry of Commerce, a sponsor unit shall, according
to its own organization's capacity, draw out a plan
of activations on the holding of exhibitions in
which large-scale exhibitions beyond the organization's
capacity of such unit must be excluded. Approval
documents for holding exhibitions are forbidden
to be sold or sold in disguised form.
Main functions of a undertaking unit shall be: Pursuant
to the requirement of a sponsor unit, to specifically
handle the booth arrangement, to deliver exhibiting
items, to conduct advertising campaigns and displays
on site, to carry out security, to take responsibility
of arrangements of accommodation and transportation
for participating personnel and deal with all the
formalities of going abroad. |
